The PalletLab 3D engine

Every piece counts. Every dimension too.

The PalletLab 3D engine builds the boards, blocks and assemblies at the chosen dimensions. Change one dimension: the model, the timber quantities and the costing update together.

Your materials. Your prices. Your way of working.

No sawmill has the same timber sections as its neighbour, no shipper the same cartons. The software starts from what you have.

Your timber

Your catalogue of sections and stock lengths. The configurator, the workshop, the cutting list and the cutting plan all use it.

Your prices

Your purchase prices per m³, your labour, your overheads. See the breakdown of the items that make up your cost price.

Your models

An oversize pallet, a crate for a machine, a bulk bin to your dimensions: you draw them once and keep them in your library.

Your cartons

Dimensions, weight, orientation, fragility, quantity available. The calculation respects the limits you enter.

Your computer

Design, costing and palletizing are calculated on your computer. Your projects are saved locally.

Your feedback

The software is built with the people who use it. What manufacturers and shippers ask for goes into the software: the section catalogue came out of it.

From the customer request to the production file, work on a single model. Draw your wooden packaging, calculate its cost price with your own rates and prepare the documents needed to produce and sell it.

Design, cost and prepare production

  • 3D design of wooden packaging

Start from a pallet, crate, bulk bin or A-frame rack model. Adjust the dimensions, cross-sections and options, then check the result in the 3D view.

  • Library and custom assembly

Use the available models or build your packaging piece by piece in the workshop. Find your projects again to prepare a variant or a new order.

  • Cost price suited to your workshop

Enter the price of timber, fasteners, treatment and labour. Include your material losses and overheads to cost production according to your own settings.

  • Cutting list and cut preparation

See the cross-sections, lengths and quantities of parts. Prepare a cutting plan and export the data to CSV to organise work in the shop.

  • From quote to sales documents

Prepare quotes with your company details, quantities and pricing terms. Produce the delivery notes and invoices that go with your business.

  • A model ready for loading

Send the designed pallet to Palletization to prepare its load from its characteristics. Using Palletization requires its own subscription or a plan that combines both applications.

Go from the dimensions of your packages to a workable loading plan. Prepare a single-product pallet, an order with several references or the loading of a vehicle, then pass the instructions on to the shipping team.

Prepare pallets and organise shipments

  • Single or mixed-product pallets

Enter the dimensions, weights and quantities of your cartons. Compare layouts and prepare pallets holding a single product or several references.

  • Your loading constraints

Set the permitted height and weight, the allowed rotations and the stacking rules. Review the checks for collisions, overhang and package support.

  • Truck and container loading

Plan the layout of pallets or packages in a vehicle. Review the plan, the quantities loaded and the weight and space indicators to organise the shipment.

  • 3D view and manual adjustments

Inspect the load, move or rotate a package and lock the positions you want to keep. Rerun the calculation around the locked packages to refine your plan.

  • Order import and consumables

Import your order lines from a CSV or Excel file. Estimate palletising consumables from your settings: stretch film, layer pads, top caps, corner boards and strapping.

  • Plans to hand to the team

Prepare a PDF report with the load details and the plans needed to build it. You can also import a pallet designed in PalletLab if you have that application.

Does PalletLab replace strength calculation software?

No, and it does not claim to. PalletLab is for designing the pallet, costing it at your workshop's prices and preparing its production, from quote to invoice. The loads it displays are indicative estimates, capped at the published values for standardised models, not a certification. When a customer requires a guaranteed load, it is validated by a dedicated strength calculation or by testing. PalletLab prepares the rest of the file, faster.

Which application should I choose?

You make or sell wooden packaging: PalletLab is for designing and costing it. You ship products: PalletLab Palletization prepares their arrangement on the pallet. The two applications can be used separately.

Do I need to buy both applications?

No. PalletLab and Palletization work separately. The Suite and Workshop / Team plans are for companies that need both.

How do I get my free trial?

Download the software, then enter your work e-mail address: you receive a code that starts the trial straight away. Each application can be tried for 3 days, on one computer, with no credit card.

What does the annual price mean?

The year is paid in one go. The equivalent monthly price is there to compare the plans. It does not mean a monthly charge.

What is the difference between the Suite and Workshop / Team?

Both plans include every feature of PalletLab and Palletization. The Suite includes two seats, Workshop / Team includes five. Projects stay saved on each computer. It is not a shared online workspace.

Are my calculations done online?

3D design, costing and palletizing calculations run on your computer. A connection is used for online functions, such as licence activation and updates.

Can I use my pallet in Palletization?

Yes. The link between the desktop applications lets you transfer a pallet designed in PalletLab to Palletization to prepare its load.
