PalletLab Palletization answers that question. You give it the pallet and the carton, it works out the possible patterns, the number of layers, the height and the weight, then prints the drawings for the dock. It is a second product, alongside PalletLab, not an option bolted onto it.

Before offering you a solution, it checks it again from scratch: no carton overlapping another, each one properly supported, height, load and quantity respected.

When the parcels differ, it places the heaviest at the bottom and never puts a parcel on a lighter one, nor on a fragile one. Each parcel rests on at least 70 % of its base. Assembly runs carton by carton, bottom to top, and the printed guide gives each one its place.
The index out of 100 is there to compare solutions with each other, for the same product and the same pallet. It takes into account quantity, coverage, height, load and an estimate of stability. It is not a certification.
It replaces neither a load test, nor a stability standard, nor the forklift operator's eye. Film, strapping and the other consumables are costed, not simulated: they do not enter the stability estimate. Slip sheets, however, count in the stacking. For mixed loads, the calculation gives a correct, verified stack, not a guaranteed optimum.

Yes. Mixed loading places cartons of different sizes on the same pallet and checks that each carton rests properly on those below. Multi-pallet orders are planned by item or mixed.
